As our team is finishing with constructing the platform, we dry fit the cooler box. We had to custom cut the 3/16″ diamond plate for the flooring. There will also be thick rubber horse mat, since this will be used as a storage for beer kegs and bottles. There will also be diamond plate around the outer perimeter of the cooler for added protection from accidental collisions.

We had to construct the platform because of the need for holes for a forklift to carry from location to location. This makes the cooler box elevated 10″. For access to the box, we constructed a standard compliant ramp that was also wrapped in diamond plate. This construction was designed to last as long as NRG Stadium.

All of the diamond plate was dry fit to size with cutouts for the forklift tine holes. All steel was treated with rust prevention and coating to maximize life and minimize corrosion and staining. The weight of the platform totaled 1500 pounds.

A lot of long days and nights, but we are super proud of the results so far. We are getting ready to pack everything on pallets and onto a truck for delivery to the stadium.
